A unique product: San Giuliano's Sicilian blood oranges are sliced crosswise into 1/4 inch thick slices, blanched for a few minutes to remove its bitterness, then carefully and gently caramelized in simple syrup until shiny and tender. With the most delicate touch, the slices are stacked into a jar and covered with a dense reduction of orange juice with simple syrup. Top a perfectly roast duck or turkey with the orange slices a few minutes before removing from the oven, as well as use in decorating any cheese cake or traditional cakes such as Cassata Siciliana.
